The CIMB Malaysian Open Squash Championships is one of two major international squash events held annually in Malaysia. The other being the KL Open. In 2006, CIMB came on board as the title sponsor raising the status and profile of the Championship. It continued to grow in size and stature and is presently registered as an International 50 event with a prize money of USD50K on the Men's Tour (PSA) and registered as a World Series Gold 60 event with a prize money of USD60K on the Women's Tour (WSA). The event attracts international players from the Men's top 50 and almost all the Women's top 30 participate each year. The local players includes our very own World No. 1 Dato' Nicol David, Low Wee Wern, Ong Beng Hee as well as our most promising upcoming players. The matches for the semis and finals will be telecast live on Astro Arena and well as internationally and online.

The 2014 Malaysian Open Squash Championships is scheduled to be held from the 18th - 23rd August in two venues:
- National Squash Centre, Bukit Jalil: 18th - 20th August 2014 (Qualifying Rounds and Main Draw)
- Concourse Area, Nu Sentral Mall, KL: 21st - 23rd August 2014 (Quarters, Semis and Finals)
