Mahathir's Birthplace, or "Rumah Kelahiran Mahathir", provides an insight into the younger days of the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia, from his school days to his success as a doctor.

Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad was born in Alor Setar on Dec 20, 1925 at No. 18 Lorong Kilang Ais, off Jalan Pegawai. A humble wooden home nipah palm root, the single room house was designated a historical building and restored by the National Archives in 1992.

The fourth prime minister is one of the longest-serving leaders in the world, having helmed the country for 22 years.
