Gua Asar is located at the Kepala Gajah limestone complex. Situated at latitude 5° 07.53' north and longitude 100° 58.82' east, it stands 78 metres above sea level. It is also nearby Kajang cave, and reveals limestone cave formations that have yet to be researched on. According to local folklore, Gua Asar was named following on inspiration during the call to prayers (Asar).
