A non-official competition, the Kenyir Motorcross Challenge aims to encourage sports-tourism as an alternative activity for vacationers as well as to promote Kenyir Lake to a wider audience. Between 2004 and 2013, a total of 7 series have been held, drawing active response from both local and foreign visitors.
